Sam is an illustrator and graphic designer originally from a small town in Southern New Hampshire. She received her BFA in Illustration from Maine College of Art and is currently living in Portland, Maine. This summer, she will be working as an Art Direction Intern on the Creative Team at The VIA Agency while also pursuing freelance jobs.

She is interested in commercial illustration, and hopes to see her work in magazines, stationery, packaging, and various areas of surface design. Using a bright palette and pattern, Sam’s quirky compositions feature a variety of not-so-ordinary objects in a range of mediums. While most of her recent Illustration is created on the computer, she aims to mimic the look and feeling of her traditional work digitally.

Sam spent the summer of 2018 as a studio intern with Hugh McCormick Deisgn Co. She spent her time working with Hugh on various client projects including Austin Street Brewery, King's Head Pub, Mami Japanese Street Food, Yes Brewing and the Active Beer Geek blog. Sam left HMDC with a stronger ability to merge her illustration talents with a higher sense of design. You can read her intern spotlight here.

Outside of the studio, Sam can be found doodling lawn chairs, admiring squirrels, or attempting to find the best burger in Portland.
